Gallery Night 'Midsummer Night's Eve'

The streets of downtown Pensacola fill with arts and culture as the Arts Council of NorthWest Florida present Gallery Night.  Walk the streets and explore the galleries, cultural organizations, businesses and shops showcasing works of art, music and performance.  Leave your car in the Jefferson or Baylen street parking garages and stroll down the streets, or if you prefer hop a free ride on the trolley.

Gallery Night participants

1. A Means of Expression: 215 Zarragoza St. Annette Valletto has set up a second studio at this location. In order to free this space, the inventory had to be consolidated, even artists whose work is never discounted. 434-6300.

2. Artel Gallery: 505 Adams St. "Working Together: Collaborative Efforts," a juried show consisting of collaborative art works. 432-3080.

3. Bayfront Lofts: 430 & 432 Bayfront Parkway. More than 10 rooms of live demos, themed displays and exclusive openings by many acclaimed local artists and winners of the UWF student art competition.

4. Belmont Arts & Cultural Center: 401 N. Reus St. "Art In Motion!" Visual and performance art all evening long. 429-1222.

5. Blondies of Pensacola: 23 S. Palafox Place. Abstract landscapes by Bill Billingsley. 471-3435.

6. Blue Morning Gallery: 112 S. Palafox Place. The paintings of Mary Ann Englehart and Morris Eaddy and the photography of Gordon Levi. Eaddy will also demonstrate the musical saw. 429-9100.

7. Breaktime Espresso Caf?: 34 S. Palafox Place. Russell Rice brings something special to the variety of artists, which will also include C.C. Miranda, Joann Nelson, Holly L'Huillier, M.E. Seeley and Justin Griffith. Drum & bass from DJ Heathen for your listening pleasure. 438-7788.

9. Distinctive Kitchens: 29 S. Palafox Place. Jerry Mistretta of Jerry's Cajun Caf? will serve up some of his most popular culinary delights. 438-4688.

10. Dollarhide's Music Center: 41 S. Palafox Place. Player piano expo. Hear and see everything from big band to rock and roll. Also on display, artist Barbara Like and her "Thou Grand!" exhibit. 494-9898.

31. 600 South: 600 S. Palafox St. Wines by the glass and designer martinis with lively music from the baby grand in the Atrium.

32. "The Road to the Lost City": 511 S. Palafox St. Local photographer John Hirsch will present an exposition of his black and white photographs from his 2005 Peruvian trip, including a look at the lost city of Machu Picchu.
